|Craig served as the Vice President of the Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education. He worked hard to help keep Rio Rancho as one of the top districts in the state. His fiscally conservative leadership has helped RRPS build a strong reserve which will help to see them through the next several years.
Craig worked for the Republican party as a bill analyst during the 2011 Legislative session. He served on the Consumer and Public Affairs Committee analyzing hundreds of bills. This will give him invaluable experience when he is elected to the legislature.
Craig was born and raised in Northern California. After graduating from high school in 1986 he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served his country for 7 years. Craig is a Disabled Veteran who was injured during a training accident. Craig is a 2000 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Pastoral Ministries. He has served as a senior pastor for several years. Craig was the owner of a successful fishing and camping supply store in California.
Craig and his family moved to Rio Rancho in 2004 where they joined Celebration Baptist Church. Craig joined the staff as an Associate Pastor in 2005. He has served in the children’s ministry, led the senior citizens ministry and is also a vocalist on the Praise Team. Craig has also served as a volunteer coach for his son’s flag football team.
Politically, Craig is a strong conservative who is pro-life, pro business, a proponent of education. He is also strongly opposed to issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
Craig and his wife Tonja have been married 24 years and have 3 children:
Tyler, age 22, is a graduate of Rio Rancho High School and a Senior at UNM. Tyler is married to Akayla.
Joshua, age 15, is a tenth grader at Cleveland High School.
Heather, age 13, is an ninth grader at Cleveland High School.
